1st - Smoke the area untill it looks fairly dark
 
2nd - place THIS tape on the area (make sure to remove the white part off the back since its double sided, its a protective sheet)

3rd - back it up with black and it SHOULD look like this...

about the same as my windows, i only did one coat of smoke, a heavy one though, but try it out on some spare lexan first, that should do it

pactra only makes tint in aresol...

Smoke is a paint color of it's own. On the top of the can it says smoke

i imagine you wan't it dark but not so dark that the tape won't show through the lexan.
glad you did this tut. i was wondering what type of tape was used.
i am going to try this on my next one.

Also, don't leave the final product in the scorching heat on a table or in a car, because it really distorts the effect...badly!!
Otherwise, it's pretty cool!

Tip for this effect as well. Try to over lap the edges so you can avoid any obvious lines from the tape and where the black bled through. Dont over lap too much because that gives of an obvious line as well.
